Evidence: Exclusion of evidence of LIABILITY INSURANCE in CIVIL CASES

Evidence of liability insurance in civil cases:

• Evidence that one has liability insurance is inadmissible to prove negligence, or ability to pay

• Evidence that one has liability insurance IS admissible to prove ownership/control; for impeachment; and an admission.
