  • Taking and carrying away the personal property of another with intent to permanently deprive owner of his interest in the property without his consent + intentional creation of imminent fear of harm
  • a/k/a taking property from person or his presence against his will either by violence or threat of violence
    • Picking a piece of property = larceny (NOT robbery)
    • Ripping a necklace = robbery
    • "Your money or your life" = robbery
    • "Either you give me $5,000, or I will..." = extortion (fut.)
